| The Academy does not do trials in the normal sense. Worcester Warriors Academy has an extensive development programme, in the form of Elite Player Development Centres (EPDC), which are spread across its region. Each EPDC house about 25 young players who have been nominated by their schools or clubs, or spotted by Academy staff and scouts having already been identified as having a talent for the game. All these centres are managed and coached in conjunction with the local RFU Development Offices and their professional staff and selected volunteers.
The West Midlands is made up of 3 main Constituent Body areas (North Midlands, Warwickshire and (South) Staffordshire), all are considerable sizes, and each have a wealth of rugby talent. North Midlands alone is made up from Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Birmingham & the Black Country, each of these areas having Development Centres for U14's and U15's supported by the Academy in conjunction with Community Rugby. The Academy is currently offering its facilities and coaches to the North Midlands U15 National 10's Squad.
Areas such as Greater Birmingham are already running Development Master class sessions for up to 65 x U13's. The RFU Development Office organises an intra County festival to each of the U14 & 15 groups.
The Academy has a hand in coach selection and supports their continued professional development and education, support and corporate identity for each groups playing kit, and offers a development coaching syllabus like its own, with particular emphasis on the Core basic skills and elements of the game.
The Academy receives letters, e-mail and calls from players Nationally and Worldwide and we are always happy to respond to appropriate enquiries.
