| First team players and coaching staff from Sixways Stadium are set for a training session with a difference when the usual rugby training for the Warriors will be replaced for one day by various drills and exercises being run by the fire and rescue service.
Warriors will be taking part in three different scenarios as they tackle a rural fire, a building fire involving a ‘casualty’ and a road traffic collision rescue.
Keir Hansen, Strength & Conditioning Co-ordinator at Warriors, said: “The day will be a great experience for the squad and I’m sure the fire and rescue service exercises will add a new dynamic to the player’s training which will only serve to benefit them in the season ahead.
“During pre-season we have been inviting different people and groups to work with the squad and give training a different edge and some variety.
“We approached the fire and rescue service to see if they would like to be involved and they were really keen to help give the Warriors a real taste of the wonderful and courageous work they do. It will be a hard physical and mental test for the players and I know they are looking forward to it.”
