Matt Powell has become a huge favourite with supporters at Sixways Stadium ever since his arrival at Worcester in 2003 and will be aiming to again cement the number nine jersey this season at Warriors.
Powell, who was part of the National Division One promotion winning team of 2003/04, has been instrumental in Warriors development in the top-flight.
Currently enjoying his eleventh top-flight season, after previous spells with Saracens and Harlequins, he has made over 100 appearances in the English elite and for Warriors.
Powell was involved in the Wales set-up for the last two games of the Six Nations in 2006 and his consistent displays were later rewarded with a late call-up to play for the Barbarians in their annual match at Leicester Tigers as a replacement for the former All Black, Justin Marshall.
The scrum half, who signed a new three-year deal last season to commit himself to the club until 2010, made an impressive 32 appearances in all competitions during the 2007/08 campaign.
The intelligent scrum half, who has led the team in the absence of skipper Pat Sanderson, scored tries against Bath Rugby on the opening day and against GRAN Parma.
